Etat : parfait état, presque comme neuf. La tourmaline est d’une très belle couleur, un vert profond teinté de jaune, très transparente. Toutefois, deux micro-rayures d’usage sur les arêtes sont à noter.
La tourmaline verte
La tourmaline est une pierre fascinante, appartenant à un groupe minéral complexe appelé silicates borosilicatés, qui offre l’un des éventails chromatiques les plus riches de la gemmologie. Connue depuis l’Antiquité mais réellement étudiée à partir du XVIIIᵉ siècle, elle doit son nom au mot cinghalais turmali, signifiant « pierre aux couleurs mélangées ». Chaque nuance dépend d’une subtile combinaison d’éléments chimiques, notamment le fer, le magnésium, le lithium, ou encore le manganèse.
Parmi elles, la tourmaline verte, aussi appelée verdelite, occupe une place de choix. Sa couleur, allant du vert menthe clair au vert forêt profond, est principalement due à la présence de fer ou de chrome dans sa structure cristalline. Certaines variétés, comme la précieuse tourmaline chrome, rivalisent d’éclat avec les émeraudes les plus fines.

A two-tone 18k gold pendant-brooch, designed as a crossed ribbon in white gold partially set with diamonds, centered with a pear-shaped green tourmaline weighing approximately 3.90 cts. The reverse features a 9k gold pin, allowing the piece to also be worn as a brooch.

Condition : Excellent, near-new condition. The tourmaline displays a beautiful deep green hue with golden undertones and is highly transparent. Two very fine surface scratches on the edges, consistent with gentle wear.
Green Tourmaline
Tourmaline is a fascinating gemstone, part of a complex mineral group known as borosilicate silicates. It offers one of the richest color spectrums in gemology.
